We have eggs~

They did it!!!! Our little chickadees are laying eggs! The coop has been ready for months. We had pulled out all the stops. Wondering why wont you lay, all the neighbors chickens are laying? Come on little Chickadees you can do it! Three day ago today Allen and the kids walked in after taking care of the morning chores with a little tan egg.  Huge smiles of excitement all over their faces! This morning we had two more~ Yes we are on a roll. I snapped this photo of Little Man checking the coop still dressed in his PJ's. How I love this farm boy! I couldn't end this post without sharing a photo of my chickadees that do all the hard work! Great job ladies!

getting our 1st egg was truly one of THE most exciting days around here!
What an accomplishment! And, as you will come to find out, there is nothin' that taste better than one of your own hen's eggs, once over lightly. The rich orange of the yolk is almost startling...what a contract to the palest of yellow yolks from the carton at the grocers!!!

Awwww, congratulations!

My sister is a farm girl and she "grows" her own eggs too... and even milks her goats!

I love the picture of the carton with three little eggs..... awaiting their neighbors to move in! =0)
