Thanksgiving at the homestead~

Thanksgiving was held at our house this year. We invited all of our family. With us having a rather small house I prayed for nice weather.
Thank you Lord the weather was perfect. Thanksgiving Eve my niece and nephew stayed the night. We had a fun time cooking. I love them so much
. After a long evening of playing and baking they fell asleep watching a Christmas movie on the foldout couch. Thanksgiving day began early for us. I had some last minute cleaning to do and of course loads of cooking. The kids stayed entertained watching the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. Isn't the parade the best. Allen kept getting on to me when I went up missing ,he would find me in front of the TV watching the parade with the kids.
It's a favorite memory of mine. I can remember laying in the floor of my grandparents house in front of their box TV filled with smells of turkey, dressing and pies. I was also exactly waiting for my family to arrive around noon.
Now on the other side doing the cooking looking at the kids in their PJ's excited waiting to see their family and filled with smells of Thanksgiving warms my heart.
 I'm pleased they are making memories they will carry with them throughout life.

Our family arrived  around 1pm. What a beautiful Thanksgiving feast we had. Yes thankfully my dressing came out delicious. Really everything was delicious. I have to say I impressed myself. Who knew I could cook Thanksgiving dinner for the family. As delicious as it was. It still does not compare to my grandmothers. Grandmas is best and always will be. Once everyone had arrived the food was just ready and we stood together praying. Thanking God for our food, for our health, our family, our life and praying for others who are less fortunate.

As we prayed I felt overwhelmed with joy in my heart to have my family and see them all here in our home spending Thanksgiving with us. My Grandmother then gave a Thanksgiving day blessing that was truly beautiful. The rest of the day was spent eating, visiting, giving out foot massages, playing outside, warming our hands by the fire, roasting marshmallows, visiting with the animals and even a trailer ride around the homestead... What a blessed Thanksgiving Day. Here hoping your Thanksgiving was a blessed one as well. Thank you Lord for all our gifts...
