Farmers Market

With our garden not doing near as well this year, we set out to the Farmers Market Saturday morning. Allen was helping his sister move so it was just me and the kiddos. Although we missed having dad around, we had a wonderful time drooling over the fresh vegetables and fruits.
Walking through we picked out peas, corn, okra, potatoes, peaches, plums and watermelon.
Next we sat on a  shaded park bench and enjoy some of the sweetest fruit any of us had ever tasted. ..There is just something about the surrounding of the farmers market. Locally grown food is really a wonderful thing.

The thing I enjoy the most about farmer's markets is how close it brings you to the fresh produce - no plastic supermarket shopping covers preventing you smelling the aromas and feeling the textures of the goods. It's a certain type of foodie bliss :-)

We LOVE the farmers market too! We have no real outside space to grow things here so the Farmers Market is the closest we can get to home grown.

BTW~ I can't believe how big sweet pea looks with her short new do. So Cute!!

Love the pictures--especially the one with Little Man eating watermelon and his sis in the background with a plum. Too cute.
I love our farmer's market. It's quite small, only about 10 vendors, but it's got everything anyone could want!

Something about connecting to local people is such a blessing. Part of community, sharing, and supporting one another.

So your garden was a little "iffy," too? I'm missing those yummy tomatoes.
