Sometimes we set our books aside and jump into a group study. Here are a few photographs from our past two group studies.

Group studies we are able to have
- art
- research
- writing
- reading
It's fun to mix things up every now and then. What about you home school mommas, do you mix it up for a refresher? If so, please share.
Fun Facts
Ladybugs
- Ladybugs have a wing case that protect their flying wings? Yes, the hard spotted outer layer is their wing case.
- There are 5,000 different species of ladybugs.
- Ladybugs are not bugs at all, they are beetles.
- When a ladybug flies, it beats its wings about 85 beats a second.
Trees
- Did you know that trees are the longest living organisms on earth.
- Trees keep our air supply fresh by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen. Trees lower air temperature by evaporating water in their leaves.
- A tree does not reach its most productive stage of carbon storage for about 10 years.
- Trees improve water quality by slowing and filtering rain water as well as protecting aquifers and watersheds.

How fun, sweet, and enjoyable. I do not mix it up as much as I wish I did. (I am such a creature of habit.) Although, when we do mix it up, it is easier for me to do it while studying the saints.
catherine, i've missed your posts! looks like such a fun unit -- i always enjoy seeing what your kids are up to with their schooling ...... i want to sit at your kitchen table too : )
when i taught i loved doing multi-curriculum units, it was my preference ..... so much fun learning in so many different, hands-on ways.
happy december!

my dd did a ladybug project in school and did u know that they are named after Our Lady? They are called "Our Lady's bugs". something to do with a good harvest and ppl prayed to her for a good crop and they were a sign of her blessings.
What fun! Enjoyed hearing about the kiddos and their adventures this week.
Yes! This is normal school for us :) Although I never really thought of dressing in polka-dots, etc. - how cute! It's fun to see what others are doing. We did a leaf/tree study in the Fall, too.
Thank you
