So Here it is~

I have been neglecting my family this week to redesign the blog.
Of course I am always changing small things here and there, but this redesign was more dramatic than the rest.
  • New header
  • New colors
  • New font
  • New tabs
  • Simplified the face of the blog
  • Did not get to the changeable header
  • Still need to add past post and links into my tabs
  • Also would like to add a recipe and a book love tab
What am I missing? If you know of anything you enjoy having on your own blog or would like to see here, please share.
Now for a little ramble~
Summer time~
Our last day of school was actually over a week ago. The first week we relaxed. I had no idea how ready I was for summer break until it arrived.
After a week of laziness we were getting antsy. With this, I decided it was time to write up a summer schedule. A schedule that is not near as structured, but a little something to get us off our bums. The kids are already brown, even with the coats of sunblock applied throughout the day. They have been having a blast on their slip and slide and in their pool. Dad moved the swingset slide to the pool. Now they have their own little water park.

Baseball~ Little Man will be finishing up this years baseball season tonight. I have to say as much as we enjoy watching him play it is really too hot for them. All and all it has been a good fun year.
Making time for the good stuff~
You wives and mommas out there, when do you find time to sit and blog? It is always something that hangs in the back of my mind, the mommy guilt. So what is your blogging routine? Do you also feel the mommy guilt creep in when you make time to sit and blog?

 Garden news~
We just finished harvesting our potatoes this morning. For our first year to plant potatoes, I'd say we did pretty well. They are delicious. There really is a difference in homegrown.
Other garden goods on their way include purple hull peas, okra, squash, lima beans and tomatoes.
Tantrum threes~ Wow, I never agreed with this in the way I agree with it today. That Sweet Pea is in major need of discipline. The controlling tantrums are on all of our nerves.
Of course she is a doll. She can be the sweetest at times, but when something does not go her way we all pay for it. Allen and I are doing what we can to stay persistent. As I know the is a stage that will soon pass.
Allen has started blogging about his Catholic Faith. To check it out click on Catholic Journey~

Blessings to you all! Catherine Anne

Love the new blog changes! It looks great!

Glad to hear that you're enjoying summer! My kids are starting to turn brown too, from spending long afternoons in 90+ degree sunshine on the farm. If the weather there is anything like the weather here, it's definitely getting too hot for baseball... Focus on the water, instead!

To answer your question, I typically catch up on blogging when the kids are sleeping. I do sometimes feel a bit guilty about the time I spend blogging, but then I remind myself that it's comparable to my husband's evening TV-watching routine. We sit together and talk while I blog, so it's a fun way to reminisce and reflect on the things that are happening in our lives.

Now for a question of my own... How do you manage theology/Scripture/religious studies during the summer months? Since mine are only two and one, they don't have a "school year" yet, but I'm curious to know if you still keep up with such things during the summer, or if you focus more on daily prayer, Church, and other traditional Catholic activities. As a fellow Catholic who is interested in homeschooling (when the time comes), I'd appreciate any insights or knowledge you're willing to share!

Thanks and have a wonderful and blessed week!

Oh goodness girl!

I love it!!

so fresh and chic. NEW and certainly blessed:-)

I can't wait to have time to go through all the new tabs.

I usually blog early morning {like now} I get up spend time with my husband and after he leaves for work, that leaves me with around 1 hour of quiet bible time and then blogging time.
Not much I know, but it opens my mind and soul to read inspiring blogs and to write.

Yeah, mine tantrum too. We're working on being consistant and expectant. We're also trying to make sure we balance out the negative feedback with plenty of positive. Love all the slip n slide pics. I always blog after the kiddos have gone to bed.
