I planned on jumping in with this years "Not" Back to School blog hop. I linked up last year and had a great experience. After jumping late, I rolled all 4 weeks into one~
We use a hodgepodge of curriculum from hand me downs, Christian education book-store ,Seton, Kolbe Academy and Math-U-See}
Math~ We have not yet received our Math U See curriculum. For now Sunshine is working on her 2nd grade math from Kolbe. I am pulling Little Man back form division to better memorize his multiplication tables.
They all do well on their own.
Journal~ I check the first draft and help to rewrite.
English and Grammar~ I work with them ( Sunshine Kolbe and Little Man Seton)
Sweet Pea is learning her numbers and letters. She is writing words and drawing~ She reads with mommy~

We do History, Science, Music and Art as a group study. As we alternate per week. Sweet Pea is learning her numbers and letters. She is writing words and drawing~ She reads with mommy~
Week Two~ School Room We are kitchen table homeschoolers. I have to admit I have dreamt of having a school room just off the living area or kitchen. Now starting our fourth year I can say I really enjoy kitchen table homeschooling. It is so nice to school the kids and take care of my wife/momma to-do's. Each child has a desk in their room to use if they are ever in need of complete quietness. In the photograph you can see the board my handy man husband made, as well as our shelf and drawers for our HS items. We also have a tall cabinet on the other side of the kitchen with HS items stored inside.
{Week Three ~ School Photos}
Each year we take a trip to the library to visit our favorite librarians as well as checking out our firsts books of the school year. While we are there I snap a few shots of the kids with their backpacks and smiles.

Did you make that chalkboard? I love your book nook, we need one!
What a great back to school post. Thanks for sharing Catherine Anne. I have not been by lately and I loved the new look of your blog. It looks so clean and attractive!
Enjoy the rest of you week. Blessings!

Love the post . Glad your first day went so well. Beautiful pictures! Enjoy! You are amazing!:)
LOVE you school/book nook! Looks like a great 1st day!
I love this! Your "school room" is so, country, but beautiful! I've always tried to make my home have a more country cottage look but it never works. I think having carpet has doomed the dream until I get wood. Have a wonderful school year, and I am praying for you guys about the "other" adventure! :)
great shots. but then I would expect no less from you. Love the shot of Allen reading with the children and that you are starting your day with this. This is something we are doing this year too. We will save our bible devotions for after dinner when Matt is home. The children are excited about this and he is too.
Gorgeous photos, as always! I'm so excited your school year is getting off to a good start! And I love the Holy Day announcement at the bottom of your chalkboard.
Seeing your pictures makes me excited about the idea of homeschooling my kids in a few years. Did you start them all at Pre-K?
Love the chalk board!
I am thinking of painting a section of my dining room with chalk board paint and then adding some funky trim!
Seems we use our dining room mostly for school anyways!
Happy First Day!
Thank you all so much. I tell you..... I am not sure that I am amazing!:)
But, I do try my best for our family. After reading your sweet amazing comments I thought I should show you all the not so amazing sides of my home,my van and me at times. It can get pretty bad, smelly bad at that! Well, I am not smelly, but my vanand house can be. LOL But, thank you so much. You all mean so much to me and your words send me support and love.

Yes, I will send you the link to my blog post on it. Very easy! I would love to see your book-nook. I know you could blog on it. LOL It will give you a reason to blog for us more.
LaVonne, Thank you so much. I am happy you stopped back in. I am liking the clean look as well. I'm still working on a few things.
Potter-Momma~ I always think your home looks country cottage and warm. Thank you for the prayers dear friend. It means so much to me that you remember.
Amanda, I miss you! So good to see you here. I am praying as you get used to your family of 5. Beautiful Family! I love that you too are reading the Bible daily with dad. This is something we can not give our kids later. This is our time. So happy that you too have a Godly Man as your head of home~ Love to you.

I am also so happy you will be HS your kiddos. I hope you are still blogging so we can look in from time to time. I did start all three of our children in Pre-K. If they want to learn at a young age, I say let them. This is a time they are really taking it all in.
Kristin, I think that would look wonderful! If you get it going, you will have to share so we all can see.
Once more Blessings to you all and thank you for your kind words. xoxo
I think your kitchen table homeschool room looks great! Very bright and cheery! We went to the library this week, too, on one of our first days and I should have taken my camera! Great idea! Maybe we will next week. Hope you have a great year!
Thank you for stopping in Rachel. Happy HS to you!
You have a beautiful family. I love that little reading nook your son is sitting in. Hope you have a blessed year.
Casey
Thank you, Casey!
