Christmas on the square is a annual event we enjoy attending. This is a time when our small town comes together enjoying the Christmas parade, the courthouse is lightened with Nativity scene, trees, lights and music... Santa and Mrs. Clause are inside of the courthouse waiting for the children. We have a row of shops surrounding the courthouse. These shops rage from crafts, specialty gifts, jewelry, clothing, formal wear, shoe shops, hair salons, resale , a coffee house, embroidery and even a few other business mixed in. All stores offer coffee, cider and cookies at the door. They are each filled with smells of Christmas, familiar smiling faces and that fuzzy Christmas feel. In many ways its compared to something out of a Christmas movie. One of the jewels of a small town community. This year as you can see from the post before we met up with our dear friends Kevin and Elizabeth. It was a joyful evening spent with family friends, and a close knit Christan community on our town square. Here's wishing you a beautiful Christmas Season filled with Christ love...

Beautiful! The Grand illumination was last night in Richmond. We did not make it this year, but the skyline is beautiful covered in lights. I enjoy it each year.
Blessings, andrea

Beautiful pictures! I'm so awed at the fact that your town displays a Nativity Scene! What a cause for celebration that the real reason for our Christmas celebrations is honored wher you live.
-- HFW, Isn't it sad that Christ is not a celebration everywhere. Our world is falling deeper and deeper into this dark hole full of money, selfishness and evil. I pray that each person remembers the Reason for this blessed Season... Christ is born~ Thank you all for posting!

Oh this looks stunning. We don't celebreate xmas as you guys do. Well WE do but it's not Santa who comes to Holland but Sinterklaas on dec. 5th. We are one of families who have Xmas with presents underneeth the tree because my dad is half German so no Sinterklaas for us. But Xmas doesn't start this soon. We have two more weeks to wait to put up our tree.
I can tell though you all must have big fun. Thanks for sharing your story. Hugs Dagmar

Great Pictures! Beautiful Family! Love the precious statements made by the kids posted on the sidebar. I found you thru the comment left on my blog. Nice to meet you also. Very nice blog and looking forward to visiting again.
We had such a fun time with you guys...so glad we got to spend this time together making more wonderful memories to cherish...love you all.
It is so sad, indeed. That is why I'm so overjoyed about your town's display! I need to go out and buy a manger scene and put it up in the front of our house. Many of our neighbors have, and I feel it is important to collectively acknowledge Christ as the cause of of celebration even if our town as a whole won't.
I wondered if y'all went. I looked for you, but never did see you. :-)
How wonderful it must be to live in a small town. I'd love to live somewhere where there is such a strong sense of community. Love the lights and store fronts...
Thank you all for posting!!!
Love your hair!
Thank you Alanna!
