We all learn differently. Homeschooling in a class of three, I can easily address their needs.
Little man is a visual person.
A few months back we went to visit a friend that had blocks you can link together. Each block had a word on it. Little man so much enjoyed making many funny, sweet and all boy sentences. Leaving their home I knew I had pick up a set. The next week I stopped into the home school supply store and realized they were much more expensive than I had thought. Doing what I do, I did my best to come up with our home made word blocks. Here are photographs of the trial run with the paper word block. He had a great time building sentences and even stories for much of the afternoon. Now knowing he enjoys the paper blocks as much. I am going to to get colorful paper, printing many words and laminating them.
As a mother we are continuously coming up with ideas and pray that they work...

Learning is great, its even funner when its given to you in a fun way... like paper word blocks.... way to go mom!
Lovely photo, his happiness shines through.
Thanks for visiting me and taking the time to comment.
It's so great that you can address each of their needs. I'm glad you came up with a less expensive alternative!
your honey could also take some wood scraps and cut them into smaller pieces. then you could paint words on all four sides like the blocks. then he could twist them around just like the blocks and it would be way cuter than the plastic version.
love your "doing what works!"
Hey Cat,
In our family, there are several of the children that are visual learners too. I think it is so important to understand how your child learns, so as to better communicate and teach. Good for you to be so aware of your kids learning styles!
God Bless you,
Josh

:-)
Enjoyed the pictures the last couple of days!!!
So precious.....
He's such a cutie! They ALL are. Your pictures are AMAZING!
What a blessing that you are able to homeschool all your children. I do it for a few years but eventually had to put them back in public school for various reasons. It was hard but over the years it has been mostly good. It has been truly amazing to see how the Lord has used my girls in the lives of others at school, even some of the non-believing teachers. That has been WAY cool!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you'll come back by again soon.
Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
Teresa <><
