What have I been painting you ask???

Our bedroom Not only what have we been painting but also building. I finally have a matching bedroom set. After 11 years yay! I have always enjoyed painted wood. Its calming to me. My room has been filled with red for a while now. I had no idea how much better this soft color would make me feel. Its fresh , clean and calm. If you look to the right that is fabric hanging in the walkway to our bathroom. Allen and I made our head board, side tables, and television stand. We also painted our desk and dresser. We live in a small space so, the desk has to be in my room. When is comes to the tv stand, I said I would never have a television in my room, never. Then Allen and I decided that having our alone movie nights, a tv would be ok in this time of our life.
In these photographs I have my side table and our new television stand both built by Allen and myself. I used a table saw for the first time. I have to say it was fun~ The shelves on the bottom of our tv stand came out of my parents kitchen remodel. It was one of their old cabinets. Way to reuse right! To the right is my closet. I don't like doors on narrow closets so I decided to use fabric.
Here in these photographs I have my desk where I connect with all of you and my dresser that I blogged about a week ago. Oh and I cant forget my precious helper. She really enjoyed painting. It was fun for us all but I'm more then happy to have it done. Now we can sit back and enjoy. Laundry area
I call it a laundry area because two nooks in the wall does not deserve to be called a laundry room. This is my washer side and across from it is the dryer. It looks just alike. We have been using this area for laundry, mud boots, trash and odds & ends. I told Allen I just could not do it any longer. Who wants to wash clothes in this space. So I painted it a color I felt was refreshing and warm. Allen added a new shelf. Then I added my laundry soap to this glass container and added the word Laundry across it. Allen built a boot holder outside the back door, the trash has a new spot and the odds & ends have been going back where they belong. After this I have been a busy bee washing loads of laundry. I just don't mind it anymore.
What else have I been painting...
New to us home school shelves from my parents kitchen cabinet. Shelves for the girls room.
Trim~ 3 doors~ a table~ bathroom wall~ bathroom cabinets~ kitchen wall~ frames and pottery~

Love it!! Great job, enjoy your hard work. I like the idea for the material instead of a bathroom door. Very romantic and open.
It all looks great!

You have been busy! What a difference a little paint makes. I have a lot of reds and browns in our house right now, and I look forward to changing a lot of them out for soft yellows and whites. So much brighter! :)

How lovely. And how rewarding I think to have done so much of the work for your special space yourself. I think I am with you now on the TV in the bedroom thing. I think with lots of kids underfoot and a living room that is not a seperate area, a TV in the bedroom would create an added sense of privacy.

Wow, all your painting projects are inspiring, Catherine Anne! Do you paint furninture in the house, or have an outdoor area to use? Do you have to wait until hubby can watch the kids, or are they around when you do it? (I've been procrastinating some painting projects of my own. ;)
