Baking with My Girls~

What is it about fall that makes you want to bake? There is just something warm and fuzzy about it. Pulling out our aprons and whipping up something sweet.
This week alone the kids and I have made sugar cookies, chocolate cookies, caramel apples and a cake. Yes, I know we must slow it down or we will be packing on the pounds this fall. What about you, do you enjoy baking in the fall? Thanking the Lord today for this time with my girls.
Caramel Apples

Ingredients

  • 6 apples
  • 1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Directions

  1. Remove the stem from each apple and press a craft stick into the top. Butter a baking sheet.
  2. Place caramels and milk in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave 2 minutes, stirring once. Allow to cool briefly.
  3. Roll each apple quickly in caramel sauce until well coated. Place on prepared sheet to set.

I agree that with the arrival of fall, comes the desire to bake. Our summer was so hot and baking went extinct. But we have been enjoying the yummy cookies, bread, and other baked stuff so much. I made a bunch of pumpkin stuff .
Adorable pictures.

Catherine,

Oh how I wish our temps would cool down to make baking enjoyable. We have had 90 degree temps all week long. I love the pumpkin cookies and most of all the memories you are making with your girls.

This is great for them! They will grow up loving to bake and cook. My two are in 4th & 6th grade and love to cook and bake. I want my girls to grow up knowing how to run a kitchen and a househole. :)

Once the weather starts to turn cool even I love to get in the kitchen and bake. Of course it makes it so much more fun to do this with out little ones. Looks like you and your little ones are having a great time together.

Yes, I do!! And even more in the winter--simply because when I heat the kitchen up, it doesn't matter.

Love the pics of your little ones.
