I have this love, this big love, this
book love! It can even be called a weakness at times. What am I talking about? Childrens books. I say weakness because I am weak while in a book store. Even weaker in a used book store. Now that I have said it, What about you? Do you share this big love as well? If so you may enjoy my weekly childrens book post. There are too many times I think to myself, Oh the mothers that need to know how wonderful this book is. So now I found a way to share my excitement.
If you are looking for a Christmas book of traditions all around the world
A Book of Christmas is for you. This pop up book allows your child to gaze into the pop ups of the first Christmas, Advent, St. Nicholas, St. Lucy, and decoration around the tree. This is a book that has been in our family for most of my life. A gift from Aunt Carol at one of my first birthdays. What a blessing~
The First Christmas is another book from my childhood. A gift from my grandparents. The story starts when Gabriel the archangel appears to Mary and ends when Jesus is a little boy. This book has a full story along with the lifelike illustrations. As a small child this allowed me to learn and love the First Christmas. Christ birth.
The Night Before Christmas an all time household favorite. This book was a gift to me from my grandparents in 1986. I was six years old. Many memories have been made with this book. As I sat cuddled in someones arms drifting into the illustrations. For me the illustrations were filled with that Christmas spirit you feel this time of year. Today I have someone curled in my own arms making memories with this very same book. As they drift away into the wonderful illustrations. Another blessing from a book.
If you want something to warm your heart
You Can Do It, Sam is the book for you and your little one. Little Bear,Sam is learning to do some things on his own. Not without the love and support of Momma Bear. Cute illustration with a heart warming story.

We checked out a great one from the library this week. It is called "The Child in the Manger." It was simple for my younger ones while staying true to the story. They loved it!

I love children's books too!! The first one you mention looks really great, they all do, thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas!
I love that first book especially. My goodness. I have ordered so much from Amazon lately, my hubs will be a smidge frustrated. I may now need to add this to the list.
I also LOVE the Sam books. I get them for my son and we do not have this one. Thanks so much for sharing.

Happy to see all of you Book loving mommas!
lovely lovely books. the old ones are so wonderful. are you going to do a linky for book love each week? I would join in!
I would join your linky as well. I am crazy about finding great childrens books. I can spend hrs on Amazon seeing we do not live near a Good bookstore. Really when we lived near a big town I could sit and read through the books at Barnes and Noble all day. I have enjoyed going to Vision Forum for family books. I spent so much this year on books for my family. Time to adjust the budget and get back on track:)
Me too, me too! We just love curling up and reading stories together.
Lots of new Christmas books to keep in mind for next year -- thanks!
LOVE the video of Sweet Pea singing- what a cutie pie! :) Our kids sang "Go Tell it on the Mountain" in their pageant, too. Such sweet posts.
Merry Christmas, Catherine Anne!!
I am totally stealing this list for next year :)
Hope your New Year's was wonderful, have a blessed 2011!
