The simple things that piece together forming my life

The sun has set and the house is still. It is just me and my thoughts of the day. I can feel the tiredness as it hangs over my mind and body.  Staring at the dishes to be unloaded, I'm reminded that this type of tired comes with love and memories made. It's a good kind of tired.

On this day we started with pancakes. Not just any pancake but shape cakes. I'm pouring the batter into the pan, as I glance into the eyes of my child. I'm quickly taken back.  For a moment I'm drifting back to my own childhood. Holding those same eager eyes of excitement. What will my shape be???

You see shape cakes is something my grandfather and I shared. He was in so many ways my father figure. Until my age of nine when he passed away. Keeping these traditions I am sharing a piece of Great Grandpa  with my children. Even if the tradition is simple~
Simple as shape cakes.

Then I smile and know I'm off to rest. I'll unload the dishes tomorrow. I'll be happy. Happily waking up to hungry children, sticky hands, minds to mold and hearts to love. As I said this kind of tired is a good tired.
Thanking the Lord for the little things that piece together forming my life~

PS: We have a crown, a dog and a turtle~

Definately 'good tired'!! It reminds me of one day when we were having a big baking day, dishes everywhere, spills on the floor, batter on faces and clothes and I said "oh my goodness, look at the mess we have made!" My daughter replied "yeah, but its GOOD mess mum", So right! I really love the tradition that you have shared from your grandfather, very special for you and your children :)
