i used your idea of painting X's and O'x on half sheets of index cards and my daughters made a book of 'kisses and hugs' for their daddy to keep with him when he's at work, so, as they put it 'if he gets lonely and misses us he can read his book and have some hugs and kisses'. so thanks for sharing such creative ideas!
