The Baby is Four

Throughout the fullness of summer, school starting, illness and school trying to start once more, I have failed to blog about one special day. A special 4th birthday to be exact.
 Our Sweet Pea is four.
 Asking Sweet Pea what she wanted for her birthday, she answered
"pancakes and a horse"
~So that is just what we did.
This birthday morning started with the guys making a pancake tower and a horse to top it.
 We then stayed in our pj's until noon with visits from grandparents and a farming set gift.
While leaving for Mass and ice cream in the city we stopped by the mailbox to see what Sweet Pea would find. There set a card addressed to the birthday girl. In it held 4 crisp new dollars and a sticker with love from Grandma B.
{My grandmother does this for all the young grandchildren.
It is a tradition my children love and will always remember. Thank you grandma for making our lives so special. You mean so much to us and we love you.}

I could not go without sharing this sweet sleeping photograph of Sweet Pea. She was being kissed goodnight for the very last time as a three year old. I sat there looking at her asking where the time had gone. How can the baby be turning 4?               ....... ....... ...  ggggg Thinking back to the day you were born my heart was overflowing with joy and love for you. Looking at you today I continue to feel that same joy and that same love, as I know I will for the rest of my life. No matter what your age, you will always be my baby. As I tell all my children "Even when you are 80."~
I am Thanking the Lord for his gift of you. The gift to be your mother.  The gift to enjoy you, to teach you, to love you and to know you.
Sweet Pea, you keep me laughing and my cup overflowing.  You brighten all of my days and you fill my heart with joy. I love you as wide as the sky and twice as high, but really even more than that. Yes, much more than that.

PS~ One day she may ask us what she did on her 4th birthday and we will have to share the tunnel story.
 Sweet Pea was excitedly crawling through the tunnels just after birthday ice cream and suddenly we hear,  "Mommy, I need you". Everyone that lives in our house knows just what this means. {There has been a potty accident and this time in the tunnel.} Happy Birthday, you big four year old.

Oh, what a sweet and precious child!! Thank you for stopping by and leaving your sweet note so that I could find my way here. My own daughter will be 35 tomorrow... and every word you wrote is just as true today as when she was 4. In another 31 years, I know you will be thinking the same thing, too. ;) blessings ~ tanna
