Whats going on in our bunch...

I have so much to blog about from the shock of my absent biological father moving 30 minutes from my home, to the joys of Christmas, silly things my children have been up to. The fact that its time for tags on our new van. Projects for Christmas, the laundry that is still not finished after 10 years of washing, my favorite Christmas story, this beautiful young blogger I have meet and would love for you to all know , oh yes and also I cant wait to share with you this amazing mothers bracelet my dear friend made me. Balancing life and so much more. Somedays I find myself blogging in my mind as I drive down the road. I am really enjoying blogging, It allows me to be creative, connects with others and an amazing outlet to my feelings and thoughts. For today I'm going to blog about this week. Whats been going on with our bunch. I started feeling sluggish earlier this week. Runny nose scratchy throat. The next day I was in bed all day. Thankfully Allen was off work. The kids kept looking at me while I slept. I would wake up with tiny eyes just staring at me. I think they didn't know what to think about mom being in bed during the day. Oh and Dad is schooling us. What in the world is wrong with our mother!!! I managed to get up that evening and try to watch a Christmas movie in the living room with the family. I just felt so dizzy and weak. After about an hour of movie I went back to bed. Waking up the next day I felt improvements. Now the girls are sick each of them running fever yesterday. Sunshine had me up until 1 pm a few nights ago just not feeling well. Today Little man started in with a runny nose. I know its not the flu because we are on our way to recovery too fast for flu. I haven't yet taken the kids to the doctors office. I wanted to see how cold meds along with elderberry syrup did. I have lowered our sugar intake along with adding vitamin C and D. The doctors offices are swarming with flu and I am doing our best to stay away from them. Last night everyone had been indoors sickly developing cabin fever. We decided to run to walmart for bread. The kids stayed in the van with me while Allen ran in. Just the ride helps you to feel better. After leaving walmart we drove the kids through some neighborhoods, looking for lights. Sweet pea would giggle repeating ights ights daddy mommy ights sissy bubba ights. I loved seeing her excitement. I also enjoyed Sunshine and Little man disusing their favorite house and the colors. As we pulled into our driveway I said to Allen now this house used to have lights on it aswell. Ummm I looked around and notice we are in the middle of what looks to be a black out on a cold cold night. I make a phone call to the electric company and sure enough a pole is down and they are doing what they can. I didn't want to intrude on our family chancing giving them our cold. We bundled up in our livingroom reading Christmas books to the kids with a flashlight. At about 12:30 the lights came on and so did the heat. In the middle of our sickness I have misplaced my phone charger and thankfully found it tonight. Where was it you ask... In Sweet peas toy box! Ummmm wonder how that happened. As of today we are left with slightly sore throats, runny noses and gaining our energy back. Being sick and losing electricity sure makes you appreciate the small things in life. Here's wishing you Health, Love, Joy and Warmth during this cold December...

So glad that everyone is starting to feel better now. So glad your electricity is back too. You have had a very busy week. Good for you holding off on going to the doctors...we always get sicker when we visit.
Have a great weekend.

So happy your feeling better!

I am thinking about making some elderberry syrup today. I woke up with a runny nose and a sore throat this morning. No time to be sick this close to Christmas. I still have to many presents to make:)

Glad you are all mending. Three out five of us are under the weather. And, tonight is my hubby's Christmas party. I haven't missed it in twenty years, and boy I hate to miss it tonight. We'll see what the day holds.

Have a blessed Christmas.

Happy to hear you are feeling better. I think we've picked up another something. Usually it doesn't take hold of me, but this time it has :( Just a cold, though, I think :)

My favorite line: "the laundry that is still not finished after 10 years of washing" - ahhh, how true!

Hope y'all are doing much better!

As long as the power isn't out too long, it can be an adventure.
