Let it snow Let it snow Let it snow

We have had 4 rounds of snow this month. The first round was the ice storm I posted about a few weeks ago. Well now we have had 3 more rounds of it but no ice this time. For many of you living in the northern states this must not be a big deal. For us this is huge. We have some winters we don't see any snow. If we do its usually once to twice that year and more ice then snow. Our snow comes in fast. We then wait and hope it sticks. If it does stick, you better go play in it quickly before it decides to melt away. This months snow has been the best snow too. My kids have called it sticky snow. You know that great kind that sticks together forming the best snowballs and snowmen! As I was folding clothes the other night Allen came in from work with a snowball behind his back just for me. Can you believe the man threw a snowball at me in the house!!! After this a huge family snowball fight followed. Then a few days went past and we had a small amount of snow. Not enough to play in. It was mostly rain. Yesterday the house was quiet. Allen and the kids were taking a nap when I noticed one of the most peaceful senses out my window. I watched these huge snowflakes twirl into our yard. Within 30 minutes everything was covered in what looked like a white blanket. It was beautiful. I then decided to wake the family before they missed it. Sunshine and myself stood out in the yard with our cold faces pointing upward allowing the snowflakes to hit our cheeks. Its an experience we seldom get. How thankful we are for this blessings of snow.

I love that the snowman used up all your snow! It is snowing beautifully here as well...chunky flakes most of the day. Earlier i was thinking that spring for us is just "several" weeks away. Yes!!Hugs~

That snowman is simply precious! One of the cutest sights I have ever seen. Snow is tottaly the norm here in Ontario Canada although we don't have any of it right now! It has been a strange winter for us!

Enjoy your blessing! Let it snow!

We've had so many snow days this year of missing school that today {holiday} the kids had school to make up for some missed. Well, the make up snow day then got snowed out too! Hilarious. Enjoy!

Cute snowman :) I guess up north we take snow for granted and forget how beautiful it really is! Speaking of snow - we are getting some tomorrow. My daughter will enjoy it if they cancel school;)

Love your snow man. I have lost count of how many inches we received this year. They missed to forecast, today. We are getting rain. I would rather have snow, but don't tell the people in Virginia, b/c they may come and kill me if they hear me say that.
Hugs, andrea

Catherine,

This is our first winter so far with no snow here. Normally we get one day with a few inches but not this year. It's like we've been stuck in a global heat bubble.

So glad that you were able to share all your beautiful pictures. I love them all.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

How wonderful that your kids have got to play in it more this year. We normally are covered with snow where I live but this year has been really strange and we currently are all out of snow!

Great snowman.

You're right. Here in Wisconsin we have snow 5 months out of the year. I don't really like it at all. Glad you had fun with it...

Doesn't it seem like the snowflakes are actually dancing sometimes?
That's funny that your husband brought a snowball in the house, mine has done that as well (when we lived in Missouri). What's wrong with them? :)

Hi Catherine, we do have the same thing weatherwise as you guys. Yet this year was different. Never ever in my grown up life I had so much snow (we did when I was little and those days it was normal). Now here in Holland nobody is prepared good. The roads are horror the trains don't go, the bike paths are a mess so it's really dangerous out there. I feel sorry for those who need to go to work and school. But this week is a holiday week for the kids and again we've got lots and lots of snow so out we go and PLAY. Because snow is so so so much fun. But I would love to make a deal with God and ask him if by the end of the week he can put SPRING on our door mat. I'm a little done with all the layers that I need to put on every single time I need to go outdoors. Sigh.

Happy times to you and yours my love. Dagmar

It's so nice to read about someone actually enjoying the snow, rather than bemoaning the fact that it's snowing! Thanks for that :-) Personally, I love the crunch of snow and the shape of snowflakes - it's lovely!

Snow is the most beautiful part of winter, though I'm sure some would disagree. I think we are hitting an early spring with temps in the upper 40s to low 50s. My trees are beginning to bud.
