I have missed you

What has kept me away?  The day ins and outs of a wife and mother, along with illness. Last Sunday night Allen and I both had a terrible stomach flu. A flu lasting for hours. Allen was running to one bathroom, while I ran to the other. We did this for hours and hours. At about 3am Sweet Pea began to get sick as well.  Just as she started in, Allen seemed to be holding all his 7up sips down. Thankfully the Lord knew one of us needed  to take care of our poor baby. It just hurts my heart to see the children sick. Unfortunately I could not keep anything down until 10am the following morning. I'm so thankful to Allen. He is an amazing husband and father.
Monday we spent the day relaxing, taking the time needed to heal. Our bodies were sore and weak. Tuesday Allen, Sweet Pea, and I were feeling much better. I couldn't say the same for Sunshine and Little Man who were very sick. They stayed in our bed from 8am until 8pm. Thankfully the Lord pulled us all through with out dehydration.
Waking up Wednesday my body felt filled with cold sweats and dizziness. I thought, What is this bug? What ever it is, its bad. As the day went on I became worse and worse. Drifting of to sleep Wednesday night I even wondered if I would wake up. Thursday morning I made a doctors apt. Driving to the doctor I worried that I should not be driving the kids, feeling so poorly. I also remember thinking I wish this van could just drive itself, even if it is a ten minute drive.  What I found out was shocking. I had  Blood poisoning (septicemia). Your kidneys filter waste from your blood and then return your blood to the rest of your body. If you have a kidney infection, the bacteria can spread as the kidneys return blood to circulation. No wonder I felt so bad. After a few days of antibiotic, I can feel a great difference. My dear friend also gifted me with a beautiful box of  natural herbs for healing. Ill be posting on it in the next few days.
Days are feeling normal again. The house is almost back in order. The wash is still being caught up. School is rolling and we are excited about fall. In the photograph above, that Little Man snapped with out me knowing. I am working on a Dorthy costume for Sunshine. Can you believe Halloween is only a month away. This year we will have a little chicken, Dorthy, and a cowboy (again). The kids have it all planned out. What about your little ones? Who are they itching to dress as?
Thanking the Lord for healing and seasons changing.
(Update to this post- Yesterday being the day I posted this. I was feeling great. My antibiotics seemed to be working wonderfully. At about 3pm the kids and I were working on an art project, and I started to feel dizzy. As time went on my head became foggier and foggier. I then decided to call my nurse. When she called back I was told to go to the ER.  At about 5pm all my symptoms had worsen. I also had developed a rash along with much confusion. After being tested and evaluated, I was told my body was experiencing a chemical reaction to the antibiotic Bactrim.  I had been taking Bactrim for 5 days. Now many of the side effects makes sense to me. I believe I was connecting the side effects to the septicemia, I was being treated for. Bactrim is a sulfa drug. While in the ER I was told many people have problems with sulfa drugs. So please ask your doctor more about your prescription if you too are given any sulfa drug. Things are better today. Although I am still left with dizziness, I know I'm on my way to complete health.)

Oh dear...so glad you're feeling better, and hopefully the rest of your family and home will be right as rain before you know it! Halloween...my daughter will be a witch, AGAIN. She really, really like wearing that hat, and carrying around a broom! We'll only be doing church parties this year, as Halloween is on a Sunday...

A family flu is so horrible!! Glad you are all on the mend!! whew!

My body does not like sulfa drugs either... I have had a few docs try to prescribe them anyway... what is wrong with them?!! grr... anyway... the Zithromax family is the best!! little side effects... one pill a day... and less days... and most effective! I learned about it when my babies showed severe allergies to amoxicillan.

Rest and enjoy the weekend!

What a totally awful experience! However, it is nice to know that someone uses the same kind of "Retch Buckets" we use! LOL. Hope you are recovered!
