Francis of Assisi ,Owl Craft

St. Francis of Assisi
Saint Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and the environment. He is reconized on October 4th. Francis was born to a very wealthy family, but gave up all material wealth to love and
serve the Lord. To celebrate his feast day we made this adorable owl craft.
(To make your own owl, cut fabric and glue or tape together)
 The Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred,
let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt,
faith;
where there is despair,
hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness,
joy
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled
as to console;
to be understood,
as to understand;
to be loved,
as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

Cute! I love the song of St. Francis. Aren't these coloring pages great? We used them on All Saints' Day last year.

Those sure did turn out cute. And that is such a cute picture of the three of them together. My son was born on St. Francis' feast day.

I've always loved that prayer. We sang it as a song in primary school every Monday in assembly.

To this day, when I don't know exactly what to pray and the sadness of South Africa is getting me down, I sing that song as a prayer when words fail me.
